A national professional association for interior designers that shares resources on design practice, education, events and the value of design.
The American Society of Interior Designers, known as ASID, describes itself as a professional association that advances the interior design profession and communicates the impact of design on the human experience. Its website points to resources such as a designer finder, career guidance, events and national design awards. Homeowners in Nashville can use it to learn how the profession describes its work and what topics designers care about, from wellness to sustainability.
We are an independent firm and are not part of ASID. We explain in plain language what the association publishes, and we point you to the official site so you can read about the profession yourself. If you are deciding whether to hire a designer, reading what professional groups say about scope, communication and contracts is a helpful starting point. We are glad to walk through how an interior design project is organized and what to ask any designer before you begin.
